It's difficult for the Australian squad to achieve unprecedented feats.

The greatest achievements have been successfully scaled.

This is the team that has secured seven Cricket World Cups, in addition to an additional six T20 titles, and previously enjoyed over three years undefeated in 50-over cricket.

The remaining milestones, those for the record chasers, are what's still available for a side that has achieved everything.

It needed until Sunday's three-wicket win over India for them to complete their first ODI chase above 300, reclaiming their record for the largest in women's cricket's 50-over format, is, frankly, a testament to the pitchers that have worn canary yellow over five decades.

It's challenging for their hitters to maintain a record if not afforded the possibility.

Finally, the outcome of Australia allowing 330 runs was captain Alyssa Healy being given an opportunity to produce her latest masterpiece.

Then best known as the teenage relative of famous ex Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she first played in 2010 after Australia couldn't capture either of the 20 or 50-over World Cups conducted earlier and has seen it all through 15 successful years since.

A T20 World Cup win arrived three months after her first appearance and seven global championships have resulted from 10 efforts across formats.

The gritty keeper was also there in Derby in 2017 when a last-four loss by India briefly halted the run of success.

That loss "drove us to reevaluate our levels," Healy commented earlier.

At the next 50-over World Cup in New Zealand, Healy scored 170 against England in the final and was awarded tournament MVP. She made sure her country would not fall short again.

If this recent magnificent innings topped that previous effort is debatable.

Many contend the reasoning behind the pressure of a final. Some might respond with the test that comes when confronting a historic chase and a loud pro-India audience of 20,000.

What is certain is this century was much more difficult to see coming.

The New Zealand onslaught in 2022 happened while she led the batting statistics, but this knock came after six matches in India since the start of last month in which she had not exceeded 30 runs.

"If you've observed me in practice sessions, it's been a disappointing period because it seemed my form was missing completely," commented Healy.

"But once you step out on the field, your competitive nature kick in and you completely engage with the match."

Healy's fighting spirit has consistently been her great strength - and a priceless quality in succeeding famous previous leader Meg Lanning.

She was tormented by India's emerging talent Kranti Gaud in last month's ODI series, out to the emerging pace bowler in each encounter, but on this occasion it simply offered Healy's inspiration.

A single was taken off Gaud's first delivery and from there the right-hander was on her way.

"The possibility to take the field and lock in a contest with her and just have a bit of fun in that regard, kind of motivated me," stated Healy.

She achieved fifty in 35 balls - her quickest at the global tournament - and her century in 84 deliveries while she punished short deliveries, scoring 21 fours and three big hits.

When she was dismissed Australia needed 66 additional runs at one run per ball - a manageable total now demanding an easy conclusion.

"To chase 330 is unfamiliar ground so I'm happy we have the confidence to achieve that now," added Healy.

"Hopefully we don't have to repeat it but, if we do, we believe we can achieve it."

That comment will be the last Australia's opponents at this tournament need to hear.

During the last week a feeling they will succeed regardless of circumstances has become more firm - this triumph following victory over Pakistan by 107 run margin despite sitting at 76-7 at one point.

Subsequently Australia meet Bangladesh before a match against longtime competitors England in Indore in a week and a half, by which point a last-four spot may probably be guaranteed.

It was at that stage they exited the prior year's T20 World Cup in an unexpected loss by South Africa - a game Healy was absent due to ruptured tissue in her foot as she captained her nation for the initial instance at a significant event.

Such is her determination, she later said she wished she had played despite the injury.

But while she subsequently acknowledged those fitness problems have delayed thoughts of retirement, this championship is anticipated as her concluding event as leader in ODI cricket and she is yet to win an international tournament as leader.

Triumph in India would take her to the summit of her ultimate challenge.
